Sorry to hear your dilemma. It sounds like you've been stabbed in the back by someone you thought was trustworthy. I'm in a similar position where 3 or 4 know in detail some of my "contrary" thinking, but I am prepared to defend myself by saying that we were just expressing opinions on different subjects. I'm not yet at the point where I leave voluntarily, so I will be cautious.

DO GOD'S LAWS ONLY APPLY TO CERTAIN ZIP/POST CODES?
by The Searcher inaccording to the gb's teachings, one in particular certainly does - shunning!.
fact: according to the zealots in the org, the bible categorically demands that those who leave/disagree with the gb must be shunned - no compromise - and failure to comply will result in very strong discipline for the offender.. most witnesses haven't woken up to the truth that god's "law" on shunning is really flexible, depending on your postcode/zip code!!.
witness parents who live in zone a of their town, have a baptized 17 year old son.

The point I'm making is that REGARDLESS of age - he could be 30 years old - as long as the D/F'd person is living at home, he has a family life, so God's "law" of shunning doesn't apply to him!! Woo-Hoo!
But if he voluntarily changes his address, (zip code/postcode) God's "law" SUDDENLY applies to his parents!
Absolutely despicable corruption of Scriptures!

Most Witnesses haven't woken up to the truth that God's "law" on shunning is really flexible, depending on your postcode/zip code!!
Example:
Witness parents who live in Zone A of their town, have a baptized 17 year old son. Son subsequently gets D/F'd. Family life carries on as normal - vacations, conversations, meals together, caring for all his material needs, etc. The only changes are that the parents don't discuss "spiritual matters" with him anymore, and other Witnesses no longer visit his family's home!
Game changer; some time later, son decides to move out and rent his own flat in Zone B of the same town - bad move!!! Now the parents are compelled to disown their son, and cut him off from their home - simply because he now no longer shares the same address!!!
JW's really need to examine the perverted doctrines which are presented as "God's loving direction".

Dumb ass cultish elders
by Crazyguy inok so i'm not officaily da'd as of yet and the elders (2) come over to my house and want to talk with my wife.
so i'm thinking there looking for more info on me and ask her to go sit with them in their car since there was no place for privacy at my house.
then a few minutes later my wife calls me and asks me to meet them out at the car and they drive around and i get in.

Despite being "still in", I would not permit my wife to go into a private discussion with two men, without my being there. I have instructed my wife to refuse to have a discussion with 2 elders unless I am present. And she agrees wholeheartedly, because she has seen and experienced their "shepherding" tactics!

How do you reconnect if you've been DF'd?
by ILoveTTATT ini am helping out a support group in spanish for ex-jw's and i need help on something:.
if one is df'd, how would one ever help your relatives?
how to get to talk to them and try and help them to come out of the cult?

I personally think that using ANY "worldly" source to expose the Org is a mistake. It would just be viewed as a ploy by Satan.
There is an abundance of excellent Bible evidence on JW.NET to use. If they won't view what the Bible says, there is no chance they'll read "apostate" material!

It's got to be something related to the 100 years passing of 1914 - something to to keep the sheeple in expectation and motivated, because people I speak to are getting rapidly disillusioned and are seriously de-motivated!
So just give 'em a theme which will revive their lost faith in false predictions and promises about the end being so close!

I mentioned the Candace Conti court case in a letter to a JW
by Xanthippe inso as i've written about this before.
an old friend of my late husband's suddenly contacted me out of the blue after over twenty years of shunning and we started writing.
i didn't know why she contacted me but i thought perhaps something had happened in the organisation to make her think, which is why i came on this forum in the first place.. she kept talking about her religion and basically 'witnessing' to me and i replied with just how long are we supposed to wait when it's been nearly 100 years since christ came into his kingdom.

DITTO!
I've just said goodbye to a brother from my congregation after a 3 hour discussion. He used to be a Presiding Overseer many years ago and has done pioneering etc.
Our discussion was based on the numerous teachings which have evolved/changed in recent years. Despite agreeing that so many things which prove the GB is wrong/corrupt, his reasoning is, "Where else can we go?".
It is so difficult to reach those who have invested several decades of their life for "the truth" as presented by Brooklyn, even when they see blatant lies.
He was pretty uncomfortable when shown a 1980s Watchtower which spoke of the talk, "Millions now living MAY never die", rather than, "WILL".
Also, the falsehood about "new" scrolls in Rev. 20:12.

Epic FAIL! :( My sister is gone from me.
by Faithful Witness ingot this email from my sister today.
there is a lot of back story, and this isn't a surprise.
it will be interesting to see how it affects the rest of the family, if they hear about it or not.

There's nothing new under the sun!!!
While I was standing at the literature counter, an older sister came up to me and confided that certain sisters and brothers refuse to talk to her. I told her not to worry, they do the same to my wife - and we're talking about elder's wives and pioneers here!!!
Hypocrisy is alive and kicking everywhere, but it really stands out like a wart on a nose when it is displayed amongst those who claim to be uniquely, "God's people".
I just asked her to find 20 minutes during the week to read Revelation chapters 2 & 3, and told her that those in the congregations were being given a clear warning by Christ, what behaviour to expect from those running the congregations!

ISLANDMAN - "I think it's focusing not on all religious leaders but specifically those associated with Judaism and christianity."
That was exactly the point I was making in my post - perhaps it didn't come across that way.
Clearly B t G does not encompass all religions.
